NK Hostel

We really enjoyed our week at NK Hostel. It felt safe and our quadruple suite with two bedrooms, two fridges, two TVs and two bathrooms was great value for money, spacious and comfortable. We loved the soft towels, power showers and heated toilet seats and were glad of the air conditioning. Everything was clean and the room smelt fresh. We found the staff friendly and helpful, the hallways and reception/common room/kitchen area were pleasant, there were plenty of options at breakfast and the laundry room worked well. We were able to leave our luggage at reception for the whole day once we'd checked out. It was helpful to have the free water machine in the kitchen where we could refill our bottles. We were pleased that there is a recycling bin and the hostel is trying its best to be eco friendly by not washing towels or cleaning rooms unnecessarily during the stay. The location was great for walking to Raohe Street Night Market & the impressively ornamental Songshan Ciyou Temple and we enjoyed meals at Creative Pasta and Zhuji in the Songshan Train Station building. We also visited the nearby Wufenpu Clothing Market, Taipei 101, National Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall and Songshan Cultural and Creative Park with tasty delights at 79 NIGARI Tofu Pudding shop, Lazzy Pet Friendly Cafe and Sushiro in Xinyi District. There were bus stops within 5-10 mons walking distance and we found it easy enough to make trips to Yehliu Geopark, Qingtaingang Grasslands, Shilin Nightmarket for Deer's Flower Cake (yum!), Jiufen Old Street, Houtong Cat Village, Taipei Zoo & Maokong Gondola plus explore Daan Park with the Artist, Flower and Jade Markets nearby. The Nanjing Sanmin underground station is 7 mins walk. It was staight forward to catch the green line to Beimen and walk to Taipei Main Station for the express train to Taoyuan International Airport. Would definitely feel keen to stay at NK Hostel again if we go back to Taipei.

The foundational culture of this place. Always iterating. Always a sense they operate as a respectful tight team. Each visit (its my favorite Taipei base) something upgraded in a creative way

They're always iterating. New women's shower improvements upping air flow big time. As always it's a place in Taipei i can deeply relax, in a space of flow and care. People in this space can naturally care for themselves. I can. And that's beautiful and rare. Taipei for me is stressful, but knowing I can stay at NK makes it a treat.

One of the best hostels in Taipei. Especially appreciated the spotlessly clean bathrooms, big beds, spacious lockers, and the breakfast which exceeded my expectations. It offered several kinds of breads, kongee, soybean products, fresh and pickled vegetables, as well as eggs. The staff is fluent in English and has been very accommodating too.

It's my Taipei "go-to." I'm always at ease. It's a oasis of humanness in what i experience as the stressful craziness of Taipei. This time I was traveling with my husband on a sudden trip, and no full rooms were available. Do I dare do dorm??? I dared and 6+ foot tall husband picky about beds was surprisingly content. NK always learns, adjusts ... is different in details and same in the result of "all bases humanly attended to."
